I have a question about wind turbine power, but not related to free standing windmills. My question is could you harness wind power from a car? More specifically, with a lightweight material (and small fan) could you add this to the top of a car and create enough power from harnessing the wind to offset the drag added to the car? Just wanting to get an engineers view on this?

adding a fan to a car, yes you can do it, but its not going to give you enough power. it will only move as much of the car speed & the wind.
